Georgia Watch talks ACA on WAOK-AM

On the morning of February 3, 2015, Georgia Watch’s Health Access Program Director, Beth Stephens, appeared on Press Pause, a morning show hosted by Patricia Wilson-Smith, on WAOK 1380 AM (the sister station to V-103) to talk about how the Affordable Care Act is working in Georgia.  “WAOK 1380  is one of America’s most listened to radio stations providing news and information on the AM dial in Atlanta.”

Stephens told listeners about the fast-approaching open enrollment deadline of February 15, 2015 and directed listeners to contact Georgia Watch navigators for enrollment assistance.  “Georgia Watch has reached hundreds of consumers during the first and second open enrollment periods,” shared Stephens.   Listeners also heard about the importance of Medicaid expansion for Georgia’s most vulnerable residents.  “Individuals living below the poverty level currently have no access to affordable health insurance,” said Stephens.
